Are you interested in Level 2 home charging for your EV, but your home does not have sufficient electrical infrastructure?
JEA is offering a 15% rebate, up to $300 per account, to cover some of the cost of wiring upgrades required for EV charging. Enrollment in the Charging Rebate is required to receive the EV Home Charging Connection Rebate.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a JEA residential electric customer
- Work must be completed by a licensed electrician to qualify
- Work must be performed after September 30, 2022, and application must be received within 60 days of completion of work
- Enrollment in Charging Rebate required before incentive can be paid. You can apply for the Charging Connection Rebate before you have an EV, and we will hold your application until the vehicle arrives.
Eligible types of work:
- Service upgrades
- Panel upgrades
- Installation of sub-panels
- Installation of a 240 volt circuit (including breaker, wiring and/or outlet)
- Any other electrical upgrade work directly related to, and required for, installation of a Level 2 EV charger or a 240 V outlet for EV charging
Ineligible work:
- EV Charging Hardware
- Work not directly related to EV charger infrastructure

- Basic Information (name, address, email, etc.)
- JEA electric account number
- Itemized invoice from your electrician or contractor
- Photos of work completed
- Must enroll in JEA Charging Rebate before incentive can be paid
FAQs
How is the rebate amount calculated?
The incentive is for 15% of the cost of eligible work, with a cap at $300.
When can I expect to receive my rebate?
Rebates are paid during the calendar month following the day your application is approved. Final approval also requires enrollment in the Charging Rebate program.
Will I need a 1099?
No - rebates like this are not taxable as income. We encourage you to speak with a tax expert if you have additional questions about tax implications.
What should the invoice from my contractor show?
Below is a sample invoice. It must show the name of the contractor, your address, date work was completed, an itemized breakdown of work completed and total cost.
What should thE submitted photos show?
Photos should show work that was completed at your home, and will vary from installation to installation. This may include pictures of a new electrical panel, a NEMA 14-50 outlet or other work completed as part of your upgrade.
